As far as I know this law is still on the books (I know the Jester-In-Chief and his Holder AG would never prosecute because they don't like any laws unless they passed them.
Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)
"Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."
Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):
A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:
* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or
* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
* knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.
Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.

I realize that will hit a state like Texas particularly hard but in the long run its worth it because states like California, Illinois, and NY will get over their love of illegals in a big hurry if there is nothing to be gained from them.

That’s a difficult position....don’t want to get the wife made at you:) Perhaps move up to Oregon or Washington ? She will still be close to home.

The reason the Demos are big on putting lots of illegals in Texas is to turn the state blue.
Texas must fight it tooth and nail. They should offer to pay for transportation to Gov. Brown's house of all illegals in Texas...
Let Moonbeam put his State Taxpayer's money where his mouth is!

"Hill toot that horn as long as he can confiscate the wealth of locals to bring in new voting Democrats." Maybe that is the pebble that starts the avalanche. I notice lots of people are for all sorts of costly things the government does until it starts coming out of their pocket. Then it's a different story indeed.
It would definitely make me feel warm and fuzzy all over if Moonbeam's mansion gets surrounded by angry Americans who don't want to pay for HIS hospitality to illegals who don't pay taxes!

Just got back from Europe and the end results of socialism is taxation on even the poor through purchases of anything.
$12 gas, all taxes.
Things costs 300% more their due to all taxes.
IMO that is where big government wants to take us.

another politician violating his oath of office. And he’ll easily be re-elected.
To: Beave Meister
I’ll restate a pet theory:
Some day, not long from now, we’ll wake up to CA radio stations declaring southern CA secession. The sheer number & will of supporters will completely cower or drive out dissenters.
And under this POTUS, they’ll get away with it: a grand show of force will but establish & secure the new border. Warding off a repeat of Ft. Sumter, any bases therein will be emptied and troops withdrawn in a tense but ultimately submissive standoff.

Put a fence around it.
I spent 20+ wonderful years there, before it turned into MinorityLand. So sad.
