Great show. Even my kids love the reruns.
Surprised “Boss” hasn’t been mentioned. Awesome show and 2 season only is a joke. Could watch this show everyday.
The Wire was great too and maybe could have had a few more seasons.
Young River: People don’t like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don’t run, don’t walk. We’re in their homes and in their heads and we haven’t the right. We’re meddlesome.
I had no idea. A few years back, I read somewhere that it was lost. Be a heck of a train set.
Bingo.
I was born in the 1960s.
As a kid I watched a ton of TV and really enjoyed it back then.
I went off to college in the 1980s. I worked like a dog working two jobs during my college years and rarely had time for television back in those days.
Further, after I graduated, being very young and very single, I continued to work several jobs and I found very little time for TV for about two decades and I was rarely at home. During this period, the 80s and the 90s several popular TV shows gained a lot of traction including Cheers and Seinfeld. While I have no particular issues with these two shows, I never developed an enthusiasm for them that others did.
Now that I’m married and spend more time at home I do watch more TV than when I was single, primarily the programs and channels I mentioned earlier.
Haven is still on.. Next ep is 9/11/14
The Amos & Andy TV show was horribly racist. There were no white people in it.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Human Target
Star Trek Enterprise
Mel brooks titles are better than mist other shows
“Deadwood”
My favorite. It was sad to see it go.
Yep. I first heard that and had no clue what the movie was about. I wrote down the name (Serenity) off the display on the radio.
I was shocked that I found it almost legally punishable that someone would say such a thing in a movie. And that was BEFORE I really started seeing the US FedGov as the reincarnation of 1960’s USSR. It may have been a step on the journey, though.
Can’t beat Highway Patrol.
Instantly pops into my brain: Two Broke Girls
I thin pardon used to say live from New York it’s Saturday night and that was catchier than nbc Saturday night.
Wikipedia had a good right up on pardo and try history of snl
Boss was a quality show. As much as I liked grammar in Frazier he was ideal for boss
Alda = a talented but asinine puke. He was so good in those early seasons, Adam’s Ribs, and the one where he made all these deals to get a new pair of boots, etc. Classic stuff. I was a first-termer in the USAF and we all would congregate on Monday nights in the TV room to watch the show. It was so good then at satirizing the minutia of military life.
A better question is why they couldn’t call it “Saturday Night Live” originally?
I agree, the show slipped after Trapper and Blake left, then Frank Burns leaving was the final straw.
“You’re beginning to damage my calm”
“I aim to misbehave”
I still use those quotes sometimes.
Ya I have a “browncoat”
