One of my favorite movies of all time.
The “Gone With The Wind” song by Grant’s girlfriend then later by Miss Dunne is hysterical.
This is exactly the kind of movie I like. Much needed after news events this week.
Thank you.
Cary Grant was so amusing. My favorites are 'Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)' and 'His Girl Friday'(1940) .
Thanks. Those are good ones too. They reused an “Awful Truth” plot element in “His Girl Friday” where Grant schemes to keep his ex-wife from marrying Ralph Bellamy in that film as well.
My favorite Cary Grant B & W film is “Only Angels Have Wings” (with Rita Hayworth in one of her earliest roles) and my favorite of his color films is Alfred Hitchcock’s “North By Northwest”. I think his most underrated film is the WWII comedy adventure “Once Upon A Honeymoon”(also directed by Leo “The Awful Truth” McCarey).
I don't think I've seen Once Upon A Honeymoon thanks I'll look for it....
‘The same with The Front Page(1931) Adolphe Menjou, Pat O’Brien which was the first version of that and a fine film too.’
I’ll need to see that sometime. I believe both it and its 1940 remake are in the public domain. They’ll probably make future movies for a Sunday afternoon.

Here’s a funny scene from it where Grant impersonates a tailor to get Ginger Rogers measurements.

That’s a funny film. “Tear it down!”
I also like “Every Girl Should Be Married” with Grant and his 3rd offscreen wife Betsy Drake

and “Father Goose” where he played a character who was more like Archibald Leach(his real name) than Cary Grant.

You’re welcome. It’s kind of like of combination of “The Awful Truth” meets Alfred Hitchcock’s “Notorious”(which also featured Grant as the hero).
