Yesterday had someone sounding like he was in India not identifying himself but asked if my computer was working okay. Anyone hear of such a thing??
I got a call yesterday from a guy from India named “Peter” (right!) saying he was with Microsoft. I hung up on him without saying a word.
Yes. That was Microsoft. They always monitor your computer and tech support will call you from India if they find any problems. /S
Yes, but the Indian sounding guy said he was from MSN and needed to make some adjustments to my computer. I just hung up. They called back a few days later....I hung up again.
My husband had a problem with his computer, caused by Google Chrome installing itself & he couldn’t get rid of it. He used a company called Omnitech for help. Finally gave up & bought a new computer (it was about time anyway). Well, this company calls us almost daily saying that our computer is sending out some sort of distress message & they want us to give them access so they can ‘fix’ it. But that computer is gone now. I wish that company could be so easily turned off!
Yup.
I always ask, “How’s the panang curry doing, Saheeb?”
I get calls all the time from the supposed credit card, the MS computer guys, and now, medical ones. Sometimes I will play with them, takes their time from someone else. Most times I say I do not have credit cards (then they want me to get one), I have a Mac (then, they say they can fix that too) or I do not have a computer and no, I have had no surgeries.
I may start telling them I need to get my husband/daughter/son/grandkid, whatever just to waste some more of their time. They change the numbers so much that blocking is not a real option.
I had a woman all the other day asking for ‘Suzanne’ and I said no one by that name at this number, and she jumped into a donation for cancer theme....I hung up as I thought it a scam.
Who in a legitimate call knowingly asks for the wrong person just to get their foot in the door....I’ve had the number for a long time.
I am no longer answering calls from numbers I don’t recognize, and now I guess I’ll add my own number to that list. The NO Call list no longer works as I was on it.
