I just received an interesting phone call from "Credit Card Services". It wasn't the call that was interesting it was that they used my OWN phone number as the identifying number on the Caller ID.
I'm not sure where this falls in the "legality' scale but from my own point of view if this company can use my own phone number on the caller ID to identify themselves then they or anyone else can use it also to conduct business that is truly illegal. Try explaining to the authorities that you didn't order that kilogram of 'drugs' when your home phone number is clearly the one that was used in making the order as confirmed by 'Caller ID'.
SO what do 'you' think?
I could tell from talking to them they didn't know anything about it...an elderly couple.
BTW, I'm the only person with a phone who hasn't called me about my CC...yet.
This is like those scary babysitter movies...
“The call is coming from inside the house!”
Go walk around with a bball bat, at the very least.

Sounds like the same thing I got. They actually tried it again a couple of years later.
I know MSN would not call my house for something like that.
And if it was MSoft they would have 1)announced who they were and 2) if you asked for a callback number they’d give it.
I had a woman all the other day asking for ‘Suzanne’ and I said no one by that name at this number, and she jumped into a donation for cancer theme....I hung up as I thought it a scam.
Who in a legitimate call knowingly asks for the wrong person just to get their foot in the door....I’ve had the number for a long time.
I am no longer answering calls from numbers I don’t recognize, and now I guess I’ll add my own number to that list. The NO Call list no longer works as I was on it.
If it’s a caller like that just say “Have you met Jesus” and see how long they’ll stay ....
lol...that will work too. Reading the Bible cures insomnia too...
My dad would act like a drunk or talk Hungarian to them. It’s for pure entertainment only.
The ad and donate people are persistant, so whatever works.
