"The Expendables 3" lived down to its title over the weekend as moviegoers shunned the third installment of the shoot-'em-up franchise featuring the action heroes of yesteryear. The movie grossed an estimated $16.2 million, falling short of Lionsgate's projected take of $20 million to $25 million and putting it in the No. 4 spot for the weekend.
"The Expendables 3" also trailed the series' previous two movies, which debuted with $34.8 million and $28.8 million, both good for the No. 1 spot. What happened this time around?

I signed up for Netflix last night. Maybe I’ll put those on my list to check out.
Good. Stallone is an anti-gun schmuck. Arnold is a RINO putz. And Wesley Snipes is a tax-evader.
Maybe Bruce Willis knew something? And as far as what went wrong, I’ll go with: Who are sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger for $500 Alex. And thats without even seeing the movie.
Doesn’t matter. I’m still gonna spring for the $1.20 at the Redbox.
Last good Stallone movie was Demolition Man.
I liked it. er.. yes it was available for download....
It could be that the studio itself released it to create a buzz but it backfired. They do this at Youtube all the time.
Summary: The good guys all live. They kill like over 200 others. Explosions and more explosions. The opening 20 minutes were pretty good. They did not talk long sentences too much. Mel took a couple of shots but as the building was coming down around him and Stallone I bet he shows up in another Expendables movie.
Mel Gibson’s presence showed what the newer actors are missing. He and Antonio Banderas stood out. The others were pretty good. I did not care for the newer team members. Just cutouts.
Arnold Schwarzenegger looked old even with the 3 day growth of beard to coverup the wrinkles.
PG 13... also Banderas?
I enjoyed the movie. But the L.A. Slimes is dead on in its critique.
reason #1 - it’s a THIRD expendables’movie.
by now it either is or isn’t. apparently it isn’t expendable to the movie company but it is to the moviegoers.
botox and face scrubs.
The second one sucked almost wholly. Chuck Norris was the only redeeming quality, and even he was bad: his lines, his persona, etc.
