Teachers lounge vending machines exempt from new federal snack rules

The school teachers lounge is a respite from more than just bratty kids. It’s a safe zone from the long arm of Michelle Obama’s food police.

Students are already revolting against the newly-implemented school snack regulations that affect what is sold in vending machines.

They will probably be equally upset to learn the vending machine just across the hall – in the teachers lounge – is exempt from the regulations.

Well, surprise. And I mean surprise in the fact you can't get a beer or a bottle of pop with a shot of liquor banded to it--seen it in Japanese vending machine pics.

Did I ever mention that rules are only for the “little people”?

We had two vending machines in my high school. Both were off limits for students during school hours. I remember visiting my aunt’s high school in South Florida and seeing rows of vending machines. I couldn’t believe the luxury. And the girls could wear shorts that barely covered their bottoms. They could wear tank tops, too. At our school they took out a ruler to measure how far from your knee was the hem of your shorts. Our school lunches and rules for snacks and sodas when I was in school in the 70s and 80s were very much like the rules that are being implemented now. However, I think our rules were based on the leadership at each school. We were ruled by World War II veterans who wanted fit and disciplined Americans to be able to run the country some day.

Some enterprising teachers could set up their own black market businesses selling vending machine items from the teachers’ lounge to students. Supplement their low pay.

Why are there vending machines in schools in the first place?

I read somewhere that Japenese schools have vending machiens with COFFEE and other CAFINATED druinks in them....FOR THE STUDENTS!

Yet they don’t have the discipline issues we have in the states... Could be that since they work the crap out of the students... (they also make them do janitorial duties) and they also go to school six days a week with very little summer break, they might actually NEED the caffine to get through the long school day.....

When ObamaCare is in place, it will be their business.

That’s the whole reason they want socialized medicine, to have complete control over your lives.

Back in the good ol’ days it was the safe haven for teachers to smoke and drink too.

That would explain it. I guess I’m old, but there was no such thing when I was a kid. You brown bagged it or ate the cafeteria food. Once a day. At lunch. And that was it.
