The trouble with absolutism is that it is like dogmatism, it often mocks itself.
In the words of my favorite authors...
"This is probably wishful thinking in view of my family's medical history, but it points up another benefit of cigarettes we no longer hear about: consolation. Even the word is gone from the language now, but it was what came through in World War II newsreels showing weary soldiers and refugees lighting up. In their most despairing moments a cigarette was all they had, and increasingly I feel the same way."

“Since I have lived in this complex,”
I’d get out of that complex ASAP-——sounds dangerous.
.
I have never understood the term “second hand smoke”. The smoke that comes off the burning end of the cigarette is no different from the smoke that the smoker inhales from the other end. That is “first hand smoke” and it is not good for any of us, it affects some much worse than others.
We don’t smoke
And we don’t chew
And we don’t go
With the folks that do!
Burma Shave!
Good morning, dearie.
And to you. All well?
Just fine, thank you. Bryan, the cats, and I are doing great.
We have had many cats in this household with two smokers. Three of our cats lived to 20-23 years of age, others died for different causes at normal age but not a single one got lung cancer. Now I have a rescue cat sneezing from allergies, she spent 4 years at the shelter where certainly they were not smoking. I am trying to provide for her as clean an environment as possible and force myself to go and smoke outside. If there is any truth in this, I am not going to make her miserable.
I don’t smoke and I have no pets. And I try not to get involved with other people any more than to be polite. All the neighbors do when they get together is gossip about the ones that are absent, and I have no time for that.

Bless you and your furbaby.

Actually fish are the most sensitive to second hand smoke.
