If you're partial to black and white "tuxedo" cats, an animal shelter in Novato, Calif., would like to talk. It seems someone has dropped off more than 100 of the cats over the last 18 months. The last dropoff occurred Monday, when a car pulled up to the Marin Humane Society and left behind three boxes with 24 cats. It was the fourth such occurrence in the last 18 months. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that all the cats, which range in age from kitten to full-grown, appeared to be in good health, with no fleas or diseases. The unidentified person leaving the cats has been caught on surveillance tapeand the shelter wants to get in touch to explain how spaying and neutering works.

Sure......., they want money, nothing else.
These shelters usually euthanize these cats after a week. Here’s a better solution. Neuter them, feed them python meat for a week and then release them in the Everglades. Cats are wily hunters. They would ravage the python nests and would even put up a good fight against the mature pythons. Pythons are not native to the Everglades and are causing mayhem.
I’ve been told San Francisco and environs have no kill shelters.
I hope this is true.
Much sadness for kitties.
Ceiling Cat, please find them good homes. a-meow,
I would take them all, but I already have a couple rescues from the outdoors.
I would be the crazy cat guy!
After our beloved Holly died (and you could have taken me and hubby to the lunatic asylum and they would have admitted us both after that nightmare) there was a lovely fat old Tuxedo that came around a few times.
It was strange, we’d never seen him before and he would go and sit on this certain loveseat we had in our yard, where Holly used to like to sit.
It was like he was some grand emissary from the world of cats who came to comfort us. Which he did, very much in fact.
Big deal, so what's the alternative? MORE tuxedo cats being left at the shelter.............
Sorry but the primary function of "shelters" is to put animals down that THEY deem unadoptable or have outlived their few days of free rent captivity...........
Spaying or neutering should be mandatory of any cat or dog not kept for breeding......
I’m heading in that direction myself. (Un?)Fortunately, by building has a pet limit.
Ceiling Cat sent him.
I would take one if I lived there-but I’m here, I have 3 shelter cats and a dog...
I hope all the kitties find homes-does that place not have a low cost spay/neuter program? We even have that out here in BFE...
Wait just one minute — Pepe LePeu is not Texan, he’s French! :)
Your kitty is beautiful, Slings.
LOL, yes.
