The sexuality of fan favorite Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus) has long been a source of speculation for Walking Dead fans, and in an interview with comicbook.com, series creator Robert Kirkman addressed the question directly. When asked whether Daryl's being homosexual was a possibility they had considered, Kirkman said, All I can say is that its been discussed. We have very specific ideas about Daryls sexuality (or the seeming lack thereof), and if theres ever a quiet period in the show where hes not consistently distracted by crossbowing
well tackle it in the show. The interviewer followed up by asking whether AMC would be okay with Daryl being gay, to which Kirkman responded, For the record, they absolutely would. Judging by the season-five trailer there aren't a lot of quiet periods in our future (couldn't they have addressed this when we were hanging out at that damn farmhouse?), but hey, you never know.
Only if they want to kill the show in one fell swoop. They do have a lesbian character on the show but they don’t fixate on it so its not a distraction.
Maybe he’s a transsexual from Mars. You never know, with scriptwriters.
I'm meeting her this weekend at a horror convention in New Jersey.
If aliens from outer space landed here and watched TV and the movies they’d think at least half the population is gay.
What the....seriously?
They’d better NOT go there. AMC might be fine with it, but a hell of a lot of fans would not.

Obama should issue an executive order that all characters on TV must be gay.

I really liked “The Walking Dead” and now I’m gonna have to watch something else.
If it’s even being discussed then they’re serious about putting it in the show.
Why is there this strong desire to inject homosexuality into every area of life, in every area of the media and entertainment???
And does anybody ever think it could be counter productive?
For example, I heard that Dancing With The Stars has faced pressure to allow same sex couples.
If they respond by having a contestant such as Rosie O’Donnell dancing with a girl, will that really give them positive publicity and boost the ratings? Anybody eager to see Rosie dancing with a girl partner???
Women don’t seem to fare too well during a zombie apocalypse. If their scarcity continues to grow, Daryl might not have any other choice. Just sayin’ ...
The last thing he needs is ideas...
One of the irritating things about Torchwood is the fact that they can’t go 5 minutes without taking a minute to remind the viewers that Jack is gay.
I’m not sure about that. From what I understand, Kirkman is a troll. He enjoys putting stuff out to mess with people.
Actually just because it’s been discussed doesn’t mean anything. Writers rooms discuss all kinds of stuff that never lands on screen. It’s character background, or just throwing things at the wall to see how it looks, then next week they could throw something completely different at the wall.
The scene were Axel asked Carol if she was gay because of her short hair was hilarious.
She went from meek and frightened woman to one of the hardest characters on the show. “Just look at the flowers Lizzy”
And the lesbian would have to switch teams. There’s no way a fertile woman goes without having children.
The show is a hoot and fun to watch.
The sexual orientation of its fictional characters is, to me, a complete non issue.
But I understand you ladies who have fantasized about a little boot knocking with Darryl might be disappointed.
It is propaganda is what it is
