'Imagine an American breakfast and what comes to mind? Ham and eggs, with hash browns? Pancakes with maple syrup and bacon? The reality tends to be simpler. Cereal and fruit juice have been breakfast staples for generations - though that now seems to be changing.'

Santiago's breakfast burritos. Two bucks and none better.

I have never understood how people can eat the same thing everyday and not rotate their consumables since we are fortunate enough to have so many options.

The traditional British and American big breakfast is pretty close to the same thing but most people are not doing the hard physical farm and labor jobs as in the past and I think that is too much food as shown in your photo.

Whether it is due to the wood smoke or the lingering hunger from being out the day before I don't know but, it tastes better than it sounds.

It actually sounds pretty good, too.

The toast is cold and hard. The eggs are overcooked and the mushrooms are old.

Protein to start the day. Eggs fried or scrambled in ghee (clarified butter), maybe some sausage or spam or bacon best of all, leftover steak.

Sourdough toast or a charred English muffin with butter.

pancakes or waffles on the weekend...with meat and eggs...or hash with leftovers and spuds.

Cereal and milk is just silly. Sugar in most cereals, sugar in the cow squeezins....not good chow for diabetics either.

Yep, protein and veg for 75% of any plate carb the rest.

YMMV

I may be a wimp, but I am one of two known Yanks who’ve stood on the Spion Kop at Anfield in Liverpool, wearing Leeds United colors for the whole 90 minutes.
