The Chicago Blackhawks will no longer play "The Stripper" during their Shoot the Puck contest after hearing from fans who found the song demeaning to women, a team spokesperson said Wednesday.
Blackhawks fans recently have been voicing their opinions about the song and a few other Blackhawks practices they deem sexist. The push for change picked up after Marissa Miller, 31, of Chicago, started gathering online signatures Aug. 6 for a petition for the Blackhawks to treat their female fans the same as their male ones.

It has become hard to watch a sports game at all because of the vile music
Marissa: Get a life.
The music they play at football stadiums, ear-jarringly loud are getting more offensive by the day. I don’t know how anyone can bring a child any more.
I’ve heard of this song being banned before. What strikes me as funny, is there is not a single word spoken in the entire song.
Some of the canned recordings played at arenas can be nauseating. I’m sure you have heard “Everybody clap your hands!”
“Don’t Ever Play Lady of Spain Again!”

Offensive to black women. From 2006:
There’s no more ‘Black Betty’ at University of New Hampshire hockey games. Bam-ba-lam.
The 1977 clap-along song by one-hit-wonder Ram Jam has been banned because it’s ‘theoretically racist,’ UNH Athletic Director Marty Scarano told the school’s student newspaper, The New Hampshire.
Purportedly a 20th-century African-American work song, the Ram Jam cover version was boycotted 30 years ago by the NAACP, which claimed its lyrics were offensive to black women.

But they’ll probably still play the Pedo Gary Glitter’s “Rock and Roll Part 2”
“The Stripper”...if Sophia Loren was a song, that’s what she would sound like.
I meant music like Cee Lo Green “F-— him, F-— her, and F—them too” and other songs “higher than a mother f———”
It is hard to believe the crowds want to hear that kind of stuff blaring at them for hours
Yup a racist song written by a black man WAYYYY back in the day.

I believe THE STRIPPER was played by David Rose and his Orchestra back in the early 1960s. It was on the radio quite often.
David Rose was always on the RED SKELTON SHOW.
When I was in high school and in the pep band, that was one of the tunes we played for the pompon girls at basketball games.
The vaginization of society continues unabated.
Someone said the world would be a fairer, happier, and safer place with women in charge.
What happened?
I wouldn’t be shocked if the banishment crowd goes after the Nuge at some point.
The same people who profess to be open-minded, tolerant and DIEverse often are not. I know, shock!
