The storyline may be fiction, but the idea behind the movie The Purge is terrifying. The film portrays a futuristic society, where for 12 hours all crime is legal. Now, social media sites are buzzing about threats that a purge is planned in Jacksonville later this month. Dale Carson is an attorney and former FBI agent, who said just making that threat is a felony, but the problem is finding the person or group responsible. It certainly approaches the level of terroristic threats, he tells Action News. This is a social media virus and once it's out there, there's no way to simply contain it. Van Brown works in local gang prevention, and said local kids are telling him that those responsible are not afraid of police.

Barbarians not just at, but inside the gates.
#LootSpinyLobsters!
The first purge was an indictment of class warfare. The bad guys even said “you are too successful and that’s why we want you dead. your sacrifice will make us feel better.”
All the more reason for citizens to be armed and vigilant.
The police cannot protect you.
Agreed.
Saw a chunk of the first one on TV. It was wretched. Can’t believe they made a sequel but I guess you can never go broke underestimating the poor taste of the movie going public.
Anarchy is brewing...
Kinda like coffee... depends on how much grounds you have.
From an article about Florida CCW in 2012
Since the movie theatre shooting in Colorado earlier this month, just over seventy-nine hundred people have applied to purchase a gun in Florida. The numbers are about equal to the week before the shooting. But even before the shooting, Florida was on track to be the first state to have a million concealed weapons license holders.
As of June 30th in Florida, 952,415 people have a concealed weapons license. The state is expected to become the first with a million permits by the end of the year. The county with the highest concealed weapons license holders is Miami-Dade with 84,940.
Not just armed, but armed with the ability to disperse a violent crowd heading towards your house. Hence the requiremnt for a semi-automatice rifle with multiple standard-capacity (30 rd) mags.
(Or frighteningly know as: "assault weapons with high-capacity magazines" by the Libtards)
That means at least 5 kept loaded. And an Up Lula speed loader is a good idea, also.
And a shotgun. A couple of the feral animals turned to hamburger make a nice visual deterrent.
If the premise of the film is that crime is LEGAL for 12 hours, who in real-world Florida will declare crime LEGAL?
Otherwise it’s just a riot.
