Never said he was. I was quoting another poster.
He was one of the best... I read a little about him and I especially liked the way he handled the Soviet Ambassador Molotov... HT basically handed him his a$# and put him in his place.
Ambassador: “ I’ve never been spoken to like this in my life.’
HT: “Keep your agreements with people and you won’t be spoken to like that.”
I don’t disagree with anything you write. But he got to Washington as part of one helluva political machine. He was not a naive country boy—as many portray him. And corrupt would be another way of describing his early career. Once he got to DC he started seeing REAL corruption.
