Arlene Martel, who Star Trek fans will remember for playing Spock's Vulcan bride, T'Pring in "Amok Time," died on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. She was 78.

You know, I think you are right. I do remember her, she had the tears which made men fall in love with them. They probably would not have worked on Mr. Sulu.

I made a ringtone out of that "fight music" track, just a week or so ago. I've been surprised at how many people recognize it. IIRC, that piece of music was written for the Amok Time episode.

Back in his day, he was quite the ladies man. Personally, neither Spock or Kirk did it for me. I just thought the show was so neat and wonderful. Heck, I was a kid. But I loved Star Trek and watching the animated version on Saturday mornings.

A very true statement that helped me understand many issues during my life that revolved around acquiring “possessions”. That simple statement in a television show helped guide me through many instances in my life concerning the practicality of acquiring something that was desirable yet inevitably impractical.
