One of my favorites. When I was 18, I was turned on to the Blues by Lightnin’ Hopkins’ “Back Door Friend” and Elmore James “Dust My Broom.”
His solo on “12 Year Old Boy” is perfection itself.
” dust my broom” - When you finish sweeping you shake the broom to clean it for the next use,.. but others say ...Music writer Ted Gioia also likens the phrase to the biblical passages about shaking the dust from the feet and symbolizing the rambling ways of the blues musician
............
Im gon get up in the morning, I believe Ill dust my broom
Girlfriend, the black man you been lovin, girlfriend, can get my room
Golly that is a great song, never heard of this guy thanks for the tip, I love blues.
I like, and play, a lot of his stuff, but I really like the things that came out just a bit earlier, when the Delta guys first hit Chicago, got their first electric guitars, and put their first bands together. But,,,, I’m a Delta Blues player. Love The Wolf!

I’ve just finished building my 2nd cigar box guitar (3 string) and am learning to play slide on it. Great admiration for the roots music they gave us and the primitive instruments they used to such great effect.
Pretty much the same song;

I like Elmore, but I like The Wolf better!

Great sound — Thanks for sharing.
I’m learning Tony Joe White’s TUNICA MOTEL. There’s a line that goes:
“Something moves in the shadows
givin’ me a little chill.
I thought I saw Robert Johnson
walkin’ out across the field.”
In the song he goes to the Tunica Motel to get inspiration.
