I remember the first time I was addressed as “Marine.” My head swelled ten time sits normal size and I felt like I could walk on air.
SEMPER FIDELIS!!!!
I liked the videos. Some of the narrative verged on making the Marines sound like social workers instead of warriors. That’s no knock on the Marines. As an Army vet they sure have my respect.
I couldn’t have been a Navy Chief...I would have wanted to be a Marine.
Thanks for sharing. I miss mine terribly.
I recall a night somewhere south of Danang where our Army armored platoon, for which I was medic, was called in to support Marines on a small firebase.
To hear these guys talk they all hated the war and the “Crotch”. One black guy’s answer to a question of mine though was very telling.
“But none of that matters,” he said, “cuz’ dig it Doc, you’re a Marine, and that’s all that matters.”
It has stuck with me to this day.
When our soldiers and marines can’t pray to God on the base, in the mess hall or their barracks then this vet refuses to support them. The senior staff in the Pentagon isa bunch of wimps and their CiC is batshit crazy.
