As we await word that Quinn and Rose are returning soon, - and there are still hints that something is in the works - our friendly group of dedicated FReeper Q&R fans will continue to meet in our usual spot as we always have! Good morning!

Well, I am really beat too! had a lot of work overnight. In any case I'm reposting this from yesterday's thread.

We went to the Greentree farmer's market around 5:30 Thursday. Passing WPGB and the new home of WJAS we stopped at the bank ATM. In front of WPGB they had the new station truck for BIG 104 so I snapped a pic with my cheap Trac phone.

FWIW Mrs p6 is in Canyonero and in the background is the new BIG 104 station truck...looks like a Ford 150 double cab with trick paint. No sign of anything for WJAS.

Now sit down before I make my next post...

When I went in last night I noticed that a lot of the sudio equipment has been moved or is being packed. Control boards, amps...things like that. That means they are moving ahead quickly to get the new studios up and running so WJAS won’t have to use all syndication. Hosts will soon be able to broadcast live from the new studios.

That is a good thing.

Now for the bad...sit down.

On VERY GOOD authority the word is that Iorio has hired someone to do the morning slot.

That someone is ....

BLOOMDADDY!!!!

It isn’t written in stone but pretty close. It still could be only for a time but the word is Bloomdaddy is being paid moving expenses and will live here.

Q&R ARE NOT out but might have to settle for a different day part. With Rose emailing and other clues it would not be prudent to think all is lost! My source COULD be wrong. Usually isn’t though.

Or the whole thing could be a PR stunt.

There are persistent rumors of other stations changing format or being sold very soon. Anything could happen.

We will just have to wait and see what shakes out. I’ll keep reading the trade papers but they make my eyes glaze over. BORING!

So bottom line is there is a lot still going on. Don’t give up hope!

That really sucks....They keep Bordaddy and that goofball money talked at night and don’t get Quinn and rose back.

On WPGB yesterday they were saying that Bloomdaddy would be moving along with Beck, Rush and Hannity. ACK!!!

If WJAS is going all talk, there are still slots after Hannity. Quinn and Rose have a large fan base. Maybe you’re right and it is a PR stunt? Maybe Bloomy will be moved to one of the night time slots?

Cheap. The new group may have had to invest more than anticipated and they need cheap until things settle.

Best case would be Bloomy is in until late September when Andy Deen quits radio. Then Bloomy takes over that shift, late evening. Q&R would then be able to move into the morning slot.

It’s all a guessing game. We must keep watching warroom and letters and emails to WJAS couldn’t hurt.

I dialed in 1320 yesterday afternoon in my car and could get a signal. Not FM quality, of course, but listenable.

This morning, all I got was a hum.

This is out in Jeannette.

What is the situation with WJAS and power? What time of day do they turn it up and back down?

BTW The,way it is today....RADIO STINKS.

Listening in to BIG “country” was a waste! Couldn’t understand a word, screaming guitars, thumping bass and pounding drums.

They can call it country but it ain’t got the soul.

When I did morning news on WJAS with Jack Wheeler he always used to tell me " Never trust a man who doesn't have at least 2 shots of whiskey before breakfast." I liked working with him.

Maybe CC is forcing them to take it (Bloomy) as a condition of getting Beck/Rush/Sean...

I take that as CC trying to screw WJAS and Q&R!!!!!

It would be great if WJAS picked up Mark Levin in the evening.
If they keep Bombdaddy on the ratings will catch up with them, he is unlistenable at best.

Seriously? Bloomdaddy isn’t even a suitable talent for a market the size of Wheeling. He likely could barely cut it at Iorio’s station in Warren.
