Man Buys 23 Burger King Apple Pies to Spite a Small Child
Apparently, after waiting in line in front of a careless mother and her screaming small child, a man who was having a bad day (and had a headache) decided to ruin that family's day: The child was screaming...
It was the dinks buisness when the mom couldn’t/ wouldn’t keep her spawn quiet in public and he had to listen to the brat squall.
Maybe you think people should have to put up with crap from brats in public like good little mice.
Once upon the time, one of the reasons we had a civil society was because adults made it plain to brats what was acceptable behavior and wouldn’t slink away like you.
Hmm, that may be true. I’ve noticed that FReepers get entrenched in their opinion and rarely change it when shown logic. (of course, not all are wrong, but my statement stands) I do. If I am shown the error of my ways, I’ll change my mind. But I get drawn in too. Like this time.
One time I apologized to a long time FReeper who I had taken a real dislike to. I didn’t debate his point, but was rude to him. I apologized after a friend of mine said “he’s really nice and you should try to be nice” She was right. I should have.

So if a man raises his daughter to be a sex slave to him, it’s none of our business, so if a woman raises her son to smoke pot and do all sorts of disgusting things....it’s none of our business. (and I know someone that does this) So if a parent winks at the child’s shoplifting, it’s nothing to us. ...
That is just wacky, you aren’t trying to make sense, you just are stuck in your position and refuse to see reason and decency. Why? Would that mean to you that something is wrong with you or something? Are you that fragile?!

With a name like “Shimmer” I assumed you’re a non sweaty, potentially sweet, girl.
No I would not have given the boy a pie, there would have been NO PURCHASE and we would have left and gone home to deal with his swearing and his fit.

Wellllll, sort of. I’m a sometimes non sweaty (this IS Georgia ya know) very sweet (I hope) woman. getting up there in years now. :D

Do you actually have an idea or are you just bellowing. Who should judge if a parent isn’t doing his job to your expectations? And a parent fails this review what should the consequences be.

Agreed. There were two bratty children involved in this story and one useless parent.
I was on another line far away. I both pitied the man yet felt contempt for him.
Never, never in a million years would I or any of my four siblings or my child behave that way in public. You know why? Because we knew that there would be consequences. I certainly don't advocate beatings, but Cesar Milan had it right. A little physical discipline, with either body language or a firm touch will work on small children just as it would on an animal.
Children aren't fully rational. You can't bend down to their level, and say, "Now, now, Tucker, do you understand why this behavior is inappropriate? If you behave you'll get an extra marble in your jar. If you misbehave a marble will be taken away. If you get enough marbles you'll get candy. If you fill the jar you get a toy. Now do you understand?" (This was actually a "parenting technique" my husband's cousin used. Needless to say, his kid is a mess and a budding sociopath.)
