There's the key point right there. It all comes down to how MM described the situation to JP. Was the situation described as a possible assault, or just as harmless fooling around?
For the moment, put aside the question of why would a ground man be "horsing around" with a boy in the shower. That alone would cause me to have an immediate "talk" with JS.
