What is the age of the little angle she "endangered"?
Did anyone ask the teacher what this little angel said immediately before this incident?
The child was in Kindergarten.
She teaches KINDERGARTEN! It was one of her students so I would guess the kid was 5 or so. So what could he have said that would justify a teacher roughing up a 5 year old?
“I think you’re cute”?????
Yet another “educator” gone wild. Maybe the parents should sue for assaulting their 5 yr old?
Really wonder what he said. Had to be something for a teacher to assault a five year old.
Did anyone ask the teacher what this little angel said immediately before this incident?
What does it matter?
Just who's supposed to be the adult in this scenario?
And what could justify an adult treating a 5 YEAR OLD that way?
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Ount Blanchard — is that somewhere near Ake Erie?
I’ve heard some pretty choice words come out of the mouths of 5 year olds because that what mommy’s boyfriend says when things aren’t going his way.
Course the five year old has no clue why those words are so bad, but they sure get a reaction.
It’s a 5 year old. It doesn’t matter what he said there is no justification for putting your hands on the kid.
I have too. Believe me.
WE used to live in a welfare community, much like living an episode of COPS, and it’s really amazing what some kids know that they shouldn’t.
But an adult should have enough self-control to not react like that.
My kids, when they were little, knew how to push my buttons, and they would get what was coming from it, but NEVER grabbing them like that and pushing them against the wall. Even as their mother, while I felt free to used physical discipline, I never lost that kind of control.
Sorry, folks, in the link which I read, I could find no reference of the age or class level being taught. For all I could tell, it was an 18 y.o high schooler.
Morgana posted a link in post number 3 that tells it was a kindergartener.
There’s an image at the link as well.
Because of all the advertizing on news websites, I have developed the habit of ignoring sidebars. In this case that habit caused me to miss the description in the left sidebar of her as being a Kindergarten teacher.

Barbara Williams has pleaded not guilty to a child endangerment charge.
Williams was charged after a surveillance camera appeared to show her pushing one of her students up against a wall and grabbing his face and shirt.
The school superintendent, Eric Hoffman, said he expects the board to receive Williams resignation Monday evening. It would be effective immediately once the board approves it.
