I was always under the impression that if an AIDS infected man slept with a straight woman the virus could be spread?
Any kind of blood transfer can spread the disease.
But the usual voluntary means is how the vast majority of cases happen.
Which has me questioning why some seem overly-sympathetic to people who catch AIDs this way when everyone knows the risks and the behavior is easily avoidable.
yeah, babygene is an idiot
“I was always under the impression that if an AIDS infected man slept with a straight woman the virus could be spread?”
That’s a common belief, but it ha been proven to be not correct. That was put out there to panic the hetero population to spend money on it. And that part worked.
Though it’s more likely to be transmitted from a man to a woman than the other way around, the odds are very low unless anal sex is on the menu with the couple. Aids is a blood infection, and unless the virus finds it’s way into the blood stream, infection doesn’t happen.
I believe you are correct. Plus there is the shared needles of drug users. I think the fact that a person can be infected with HIV and spreading the disease for such a long period of time gave pause to those proposing quarantine. Still should have done it.
yes this is true, but normally it takes about ten exposures for the woman to become ill.
It was explained to me that a big factor in whether it is transmitted or not depends on if there is any "damage" done during the act.
Think "virgin" compared to "hotdog down a hallway" and the different chances they are taking.
He’s kind of correct, in that it would stop in the gay community.
Now, yes, man-to-woman transmission is possible. So women who sleep with homosexuals are at risk.
Woman-to-man sex, however, lacking an existing STD or unconventional sex practices of Africa (dry sex, anal sodomy), has never been recorded.
