Great little rock tune from the 70s band Poco.

Timothy B. Schmidt was my first rock “crush.” I was so in love with him in his early days.
One of my favorite Poco tunes is Heart Of The Night.
A little known Buffalo Springfield favorite of mine is Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing, written by Neil Young and sung by Stephen Stills.
Okay, Bluebird too.
The last time I saw Schmidt, he was in the Eagles.
Poco was hugely underrated group and “Rose of Cimarron” is a great classic!
Another underrated classic is Firefall’s “Strange Way” - the full album version.

Loved this song when I first heard it. Timothy Schmidt’s voice really soars.
Agree on Poco in general. Great band with tons of good songs. “Legend” is my fave of their albums.
This is the best Firefall song IMHO:

Just watched the History of the Eagles...had never heard of POCO and/Timothy Schmidt...until now. Also, Glenn Frey and Don Henley got their start from Bob Segur and Linda Ronstadt.
the harmonies evoke “a naked feel, off into parts unknown”. Poco has always held a spot in my heart. I have a lot of their albums. I saw them live in Jackson, 1993, and they did a version of Ghost Town that blew me away.
Rose of Cimmaron is a special song, simple and yet, and yet...
What I've been told over the years:
Linda Rondstat wanted to do a live tour but had no band. She went to the LA musicians hall and put together a group to go on tour with her...after the tour, the tour band essentially became The Eagles.
Linda was a founding member of the music group Stone Poneys that included Bobby Kimball who went on to become lead singer for TOTO.
Here's an example of TOTO with Kimball as lead singer: Hold The Line
(By the way, Linda shacked up with Jerry Brown the first time he was governor of California. Jerry wouldn't live in the governors mansion.)
You're correct...that's excellent.
Listen to it here: Keep On Trying
I got the wrong link in my post #11 for bobby Kimball and TOTO, here it is:
BTY, the above link is from a TOTO concert where they are accompanied by a 50 piece orchestra and a 50 member chorus...fantastic music.
TOTO's song Rosanna was written about actress Rosanna Arquette and a TOTO band member... notice the 'West Side Story' motif in the video and the girl in the red dress in this video did the difficult dance parts in the movie 'Flashdance'.
It's all connected, eh?
I didn’t know that about TOTO, love TOTO, big back in my younger days...
Yeah I remember Linda and Jerry being an item back yonder- Linda had such an incredible voice...
And Joe Walsh, wow, he was on death’s door prior to the Eagles come-back, they made him get sober and clean before the tour...Joe said, they saved his life....
I last saw Joe Walsh during the Hell Freezes Over tour in Houston back in 1994.
He was with Poco in the early days, with Richie
Furay and Jim Messina. They were AWESOME in concert.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
One of my favorites:

Man, he’s aged!
“... notice the ‘West Side Story’ motif in the video and the girl in the red dress in this video did the difficult dance parts in the movie ‘Flashdance’.”
The girl (Cynthia Rhodes) was the soon-to-be-wife of Richard Marx. She was also featured in Richard Marx’ video “Don’t Mean Nothing” - catchy little song about the “biz”. She was hot, hot, HOT!!
