Awwwwww..that’s wonderful.
Out Brittney used to go nuts to the point of choking herself when we came home from vacation. The only time she’d eat when the core family went on vacation was if we’d get another family member to stay or visit (usually grandparents). Somehow she knew family from friends. The most loyal dog on the face of the earth ever...
When I come home from Oz once a year (this Aug for good) my border collie runs around me in circles until she trips over her tongue.
Sure is.
Dogs are a wonderful gift from God.
When I went away from college and then came back for the first time my dog got so excited she peed. She was well trained, just got too excited.
The dog passed out because it forgot to breath.
Pure joy. Sobs of joy.
I hate to be the turd in the punch bowl, but it looked as if that door experienced some kind of stroke or seizure or something. The excitement probably set it off. They should keep an eye on it.
We had a dog that would zone out occasionally for no reason. She usually took about 20 minutes to recover. When she got old, she had one she never recovered from.
I have seen a few such videos with dogs so overwhelmed with joy at a family members return. I have always wondered what might the poor dog have thought happens to his friend in the first place. Losing a dog is one of the hardest things I ever went through. Amazing the love you can have for man’s best friend.
Dogs can be funny like that. If I go off for a long time
or overnight, they won’t eat till I get home.
However they have no trouble pooping.
A vet put my dog on a heart medication. After he was on it for awhile he started having seizures. The effect would last for a few days though the seizures themselves were only for a few seconds. Another vet took him off the heart meds and told us the meds were worse for him than the heart condition. He hasn’t had a seizure yet.
By the way, for major vet work such as teeth cleaning, we make a 10 hour drive to a vet we can trust. He’s cheaper than Houston vets that the difference pays for the trip.
Gorgeous! Such a well-loved animal, such a happy family.
Ditto! Miss our muffin, so so much! It’s almost been a year, and the pain still gets me from time to time.

My mother’s dog used to pass out when she got excited about seeing someone. It was at the end of her life and she had congestive heart failure. She was on Lasix, just like people.

That is so true. I still feel sad after having our Lab Claudius, a.k.a. Claudy, about ten years ago. He was a good boy and whenever I was sad, he knew it, would come over and push his nose underneath my hand. He was here when I first moved to Canada so I was sad a lot. :) He loved it here, though; he had tons of space to run free, unlike where we lived in Denver. I probably waited far too long to “put him to sleep,”; he was knuckling under
Who has the doggie ping list? Joe Six-Pack? He definitely should be pinged to these two threads.
Real stuff—our lab went nuts when I played the video...(he yips, nose whistles, and runs in circles when I get back from a job).
