Appearances matter. All of our lives we were told that by our mothers, school teachers, employers and etiquette books.
At this rate their won’t be a next generation. Sucked right into the Abyss... darn, there go all the Wally World PJs!
That was all they had in wardrobe.
What ever became of that hideous skank?
If she is currently working on anything besides “Vagina Monologues” I would be surprised
EVEN at the gaming tables???? Most casinos in Europe won’t admit you unless you’re wearing a jacket and tie. For some, it’s a tuxedo. Gambling was once considered a gentleman’s game.
Yes. The institute of marriage is destroyed and the next generation won’t even know what that was.
Same with standards of any type. “You can’t judge me!”
That is a mannequin at the head of the table, isn’t it.
It does look that way. I wonder if it was a movie still
Never understand grown men wearing shorts on a nice day.
If it gets over 90, OK, but otherwise what man would want to wear shorts when they could be wearing pants?
That is so sad.....but I laughed so hard!
Well....it’s Friday.

Slacks are nice on a hot day

What are things coming to?
Men who desire comfort.
Appearances - Keep them up.
Appearances - Keep them up.
Some of them might complain that they can't afford to dress better. Maybe not, but many of my "dress" shirts come from a second-hand store.
Then there are people who PAY MONEY to put bones in their noses; or whole baboon-sized shoulder sockets in their earlobes.
This has been a very interesting thread. My intent was to highlight the change in usage from Appearances to Optics. Then a surprise happened that made it an even better discussion thread.

A very famous star in 1930’s was a mannesquin... Cynthia.
“In 1937, LIFE magazine launched the career of an up-and-coming starlet in a multiple-page photo spread that, overnight, made Cynthia a household name. In very short order she became an A-list celebrity; was given her own television talk show and starred on the silver screen; was sent jewels and dresses by top fashion houses; was briefly engaged to one of radios biggest stars; and became one of the most recognizable faces in the fashion world.
There was just one minor catch: Cynthia was a mannequin. Not a mannequin in the way a runway model is a mannequin. But a mannequin mannequin. A made-of-plaster mannequin.”
Cynthia was a famous mannequin
