Well, they are conductors...but I don’t think they’d fit in your pocket very well.

Actually, I’ve always thought about what a hit I would be if I traveled back in time to like the 1400’s with my iPhone. But then I always realized my fame would be short-lived as my phone would shortly lose it’s charge. This would totally solve this problem!

The professor could have done it with a few cocoanuts, pennies and wires.

That is awesome.

The could work in an emergency situation if you didn’t need to eat more than you needed to charge your cell phone.

Very creative. But with the new super high price of food, this contraption Doesn’t look like very practical

A better example can be found in Breaking Bad episode 209.

Don’t give politicians any ideas. Corn in gasoline has already driven up meat prices. Apples and potatoes for electricity will drive the price of fruit and vegetables up.

I am reminded of that Breaking Bad episode in which Walter and Jesse spend a frantic weekend out in the desert cooking up a mega batch of meth only to find the RV's battery dead when they're ready to return, Jesse having left the key in the ignition. Their generator blows up when they try to use it jump the engine. Their phones don't work. Ultimately, they end up improvising a battery, which they use to start the engine.
