CBS put on an anti-religion jeremiad early Thursday morning on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson: a feminist musician who likes wearing and making something Satanic since music is so not right now.
Piano-banging rock singer Kristeen Young made her late-night TV debut, accompanied by Foo Fighters stars Dave Grohl and Pat Smear. She sang the song Pearl of a Girl that criticizes Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, but most gratuitously proclaims about Jesus I wish the virgin wouldve had an abortion. [See video below. MP3 audio here.]
Its a bit hard to make out in Kristeens ranty performance on CBS, but here are the anti-religious lyrics:
I never knew I was a girl until they stopped to tell me
I never knew I was disturbed until they dropped three volumes on me
But in the Bible/Torah/Quran there are really no good roles for me except concubine and wash woman
I used to be the sad one now I just wanna stab them its so severe its brutal .
Theyve needed to have the law so they can legally bind us
Theyve needed to have the church so they can morally ground us
Theyve needed most of the dough they must be so scared of us
So their stories are of ghosts I only wish the virgin wouldve had an abortion.
kristeenyoungUsing their best sales pitch, the NPR station in New York calls this music beguiling and visceral.
In an interview with Paper magazine about the outfits she designs for herself, Young announced I felt like wearing and making something Satanic since music is so not right now. Even Ozzys like the loveable, silly uncle next door.
She added:
The skirts pattern, which I painted on, represents the symbols of three major religions but Ive defaced them. The cross and the half moon are upside down and I sewed little metal pieces on the star points of the Star of David to look like blades making it like a martial arts throwing star weapon. The fabric and pattern of the skirt is the same as the lining of the jacket. I got the idea from what silent film star, Theda Bara, was wearing in one of her movies. I wear this outfit in much of the upcoming Pearl of a Girl video. The song is about the centuries of religious persecution (and again, triumph) of women.
Young also mocked the crucifix in this video promo:
The lyrics to Pearl of a Girl are more obvious in the recorded version:
PS: There was time for happy photos with Craig Ferguson for the Facebook page.
Her Savior who died so that she may live in glory forever and she wishes he was never born. Pray that this evil leaves her heart.
That was her main target.
Oh it’s not the first time they’ve wished it!!! http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3163198/posts
Forgive them. It’s just Satan talking. He’s been running scared of the Son of God for as long as anyone can remember.
It’s Slut Music. They use it to twerk each other.
I never thought the Foo Fighters were any good.
Sounds like Kristeens Mom should have had an abortion.
This is the crap you get when the ONLY thing the children are taught in school is how to manipulate their genitals or have the “teacher” manipulate their genitals for them.
You are not the only one! The thing is the viler things become the more important it will be to show a different way! God’s way!
I liked the Foo Fighters at first - I liked the return to Guitar based, melodic music - but yes he seems to have read too much of his own press - either that or he has more and more come to show his real self.
I liked The Colour & the Shape 15 years ago. But Grohl is making it impossible to go back and enjoy that album again.
And Nirvana sounds so dated, it’s almost funny to hear them now. Funny in a “can you believe anyone ever thought this was good music?” sorta way.
That’s why I liked them back in the day. It was such a departure from all the BS Seattle angst of Nirvana and its imitators, it was accessible and refreshing. Everlong and New Way Home used to be two of my favorite songs from the 90s.
That was some serious crap and I like the Sex Pistols. Couldn't understand a word she said and I love that she had a toy keyboard in front of her so we know she's a real musician.
John Lydon is still around.
Oh and by the way.....John Lydon did an anti abortion song!!!

I looked up one of her clips on Youtube. Three thoughts came to mind:
-Judging from her appearance and her voice, I’m not entirely sure Kristeen wasn’t born Kristopher.
-The 1980’s called: Adam Ant wants his hair and makeup back (Kristeen obviously never took any of his talent).
-Geez, what an awful song!
There will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth for some when the final bell tolls.
Yet another angry beech
Real shortage of them
She’ll really be pissed by menopause.
Grohl....disappointing dude.
Adam Ant? I thought she was copying A Flock of Seagulls.
I used to watch Craig Ferguson, I would have thought he was better than that.
