That, and baseball, is part of what makes America unique. I will never forget attending games at Tiger Stadium (Briggs Stadium then, but I am dating myself) as a child. That first glimpse of the green grass as you walked up the ramp towards the field was thrilling. Still the greenest grass I have ever seen.

The first time I walked into Tiger Stadium was 1968. I thought I had entered a cathedral. It was like walking into another world.
