Archie Andrews will die taking a bullet for his gay best friend.
The famous freckle-faced comic book icon is meeting his demise in Wednesdays installment of Life with Archie when he intervenes in an assassination attempt on Kevin Keller, Archie Comics first openly gay character. Andrews death, which was first announced in April, will mark the conclusion of the series that focuses on grown-up renditions of Andrews and his Riverdale pals. [

We wanted to do something that was impactful that would really resonate with the world and bring home just how important Archie is to everyone, said [Jon] Goldwater, [Archie Comics publisher and co-CEO]. Thats how we came up with the storyline of saving Kevin. He could have saved Betty. He could have saved Veronica. We get that, but metaphorically, by saving Kevin, a new Riverdale is born.

Personally Kevin Keller is one character whose back-story I would prefer not to read about.(My guess would be that young Kevin away from home and moved to Riverdale because he didnt like the way he was being reared.)
LOL! The jokes just write themselves...

This is pathetic, and an example of how our culture has deteriorated in my lifetime.

This is probably the gayest thing I’ve ever heard. Who reads this comic now? Middle aged libs stuck in their parent’s basements?

WOW, interesting. I don’t think the Taft-Hartley bill really destroyed organized labor though. Unfortunately.

I grew up reading comic books, including Archie. Granted, those clowns may own the copyright, and they can do what they want with it, but they're messing with our folklore, and I don't like it. They should consider themselves as stewards of a tradition, not as free to change the whole thing.
I used to have a friend named Kevin Keller. If he were still alive, I wonder how he'd feel about having his name hung on a queer.
