My wife is a by the book, by the recipe cook. Her meals are delicious. I grill, smoke, cook chili, spaghetti, Chinese etc. by the seat of my pants. Even when people tell me I have nailed it, I continue to experiment. I need help.
You don’t need no stickin help. That’s the way I do it, and all my female relatives that I know personally do it.
It’s kinda like playing the piano by ear. Some people can do that with no formal training and no knowledge of how to read music.
Others make beautiful music by learning to read music and playing by the book.
