A valet at the five star Le Meridien Hotel in New Delhi, India is in a certain amount of trouble after he wrecked a guest's precious Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder recently, causing damages of up to $330,000 to the luxury vehicle.
Captured on CCTV for all the world to see, the valet, Arun Kumar drives the car from the parking area at the hotel to the busy valet area. He briefly gets out of the car. Then, after climbing back in, the car suddenly lurches forward, sending other valets running for cover as it hits a wall head-on. The valet managed to injure his head in the process, but was released from the hospital the same day.
What's worse is that the driver who was waiting for the car, Nipun Miglani, had borrowed it from his friend, Abid Fateh Mohammed Khatri, to drive to the hotel last Thursday. He said the car "had been parked by valets a number of times before," and added, "Even that afternoon, the valet took the car to the parking safely and even brought it back to the porch area without any hassles."
The hotel, on the other hand, says it was merely an accident, with a hotel spokeswoman telling the media: "We get all kind of luxury cars, important guests and hold outstanding events andthis was something completely inadvertent."
Speaking of the injured valet, the spokeswoman continued:
"We have given him leave until such time that he recovers psychologically and till the time that the insurance claim and other processes clear through."
"We may not put him back on valet. We will give him time because he may get nervous initially," she added.
Not sure if I owned this car I would let a valet drive it, in fact I know I wouldn’t.
Reminds me of a story RUSH told many years ago about going to a restaurant in his maybach, said there was no safe place to park so he left.
If he worked for me, that valet would be out of a job.
My brother was a valet for many years.
Your instincts are correct...don’t let a valet drive a high dollar sports car.
Dude, where’s my car?
Nope ,that won’t Buff out. Ouch.
550 bhp and a manual transmission (some of them, anyway). And, presumably, a short-throw clutch. And close quarters. Bad combination.
I like the cool composure of the guy in white with the turban. Puts his hands behind his back in an official “I don’t know what to do so I’ll let other people get there first:)
Yep. That is India described to a T, alright.
I have business partners in Italy and visited their "super car" area including a personal, after hours visit to Pagani.

There is a follow up video.
It repeats it’s self ,but has close up pictures.
I don’t care how much I was worth...I’d never own a car with a sticker price that’s even 25% of what this one was.
Arun Kumar. Probably felt an urgent need to get to White Castle. At least he’s got a job waiting for him at the White House.
I heard my Shelby GT 500 KR SCREAM through a parking garage once. I was PISSED!!
He is a better driver than Obama is a president.
Arun Kumar’s excellent adventure.
My brother was a valet too...many stories of running Ferrari’s and Porsche’s down a quarter mile strip behind the 1/4 mile strip behind the hotel in Annapolis, MD. Now he owns the fricking cars...God bless him...he always knew what he wanted...
I know...spare me the grief.
