FULL TITLE:
Incredible sight of the elephant that cried: Raju was held in chains, beaten and abused for fifty years and on the day he was released tears rolled down his face
Raju was held in chains for more than 50 years after being poached in India The animal bled from spiked shackles and lived on hand-outs from tourists Team from North London charity Wildlife SOS travelled to India to free animal Raju cried tears of joy after being freed from suffering on American Independence Day Five-and-a-half tonne animal driven 350 miles away to safe conservation area
These incredible pictures show the moment an elephant who was held in chains and beaten and abused for fifty years cried as he was released to freedom.
Raju the elephant was left bleeding from spiked shackles and living on hand-outs from passing tourists after he was captured and tied up by his owner.
But, after 50 years of torture, the animal cried tears of relief after he was rescued by a wildlife charity in a daring midnight operation fittingly on American Independence Day.

Elephants are a special case. They have in past been shown to master elaborate IQ tests individually, and even cooperatively when the test is designed so that a single animal cannot pass it.
They obviously demonstrate the full range of emotions, to include affection, remorse and mourning, anger, greed, competition and cooperation, play, happiness, fright, bravery and self sacrifice, etc. And while some dogs can learn the meanings and context of some 300 human words, elephants are far beyond that to an unknown degree.
Elephant memories of each other and humans can indeed last decades, and they are known for affectionate reunions.
It might even be said that many elephants are even superior in intellect and emotions to many more primitive humans.
50 years?
and they think he’ll be able to feed himself?
There is so much about the occupants of this mortal coil that we cannot fathom. In general, attempts to use secular science will fail to give us much understanding. Bible theology does better, e.g. “The lion roars, and seeks its food from God” and “a righteous man is kind to his beast.”
The question of whether animal souls go to heaven is a matter of continual speculation. I know nothing from the scriptures that says they can not, and several things seem to hint that they can. It is notable that sin is never ascribed to an animal, save possibly for the “serpent” of the Garden of Eden which might have been a supernatural being, not an ordinary serpent.
He’s in a place where he can be eased into socializing with other elephants that have been rescued as well. They are intelligent. He will see what they do and do likewise................
All life emanates from God, animal and human. If He can recreate your existence in an immortal spirit-body, then an animal is no problem at all.....................
The author of Ecclesiastes (probably Solomon) made the sarcastic remark “Who knows that the spirit of the animal goes into the ground and the spirit of the man goes upward?” Since the spirit of some men, alas, fails to “go upward,” we know this is sarcasm, intended to prick the egos of the egotistical.
Isaiah 6
6 The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling[a] together;
and a little child will lead them.
7 The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 The infant will play near the cobras den,
and the young child will put its hand into the vipers nest.
9 They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.
The current bloody state of nature is a reflection of its partial domination by Satan. Unlike men, the rest of nature does not have a choice.
Biologically speaking, humans have several genetic mutations that advantage both intelligence and communications.
However, the mutation for intelligence is imperfect, in that high intelligence is borderline to autism.
And the choices of selection are also problematic, in that organisms can have more chromosomal pairs for a greater number of selections, or fewer pairs, to save energy. The current champ is a fern, with about 1,200 pairs.
Humans have 46. And humans seem to be evolving to having fewer. That is we have an X (female) and a Y (male) sex chromosome, and the Y is a degenerate X, and it is slowly dying out. It will be replaced by the current X chromosome, which will become a Y, and another chromosome will take the place of the current X. So we will have 45 total.
The communications mutation makes our jaw squarer, and makes it easier for us to speak distinct phonemes for greater language complexity.
I view animals as essentially like ‘robots’ permanently programmed to do whatever it is that they do, with just enough intelligence to make decisions and cope with new situations as necessary. Insects as well......................
Well, holy scripture views most, but not all, animals as a kind of “nephesh.” This is a word meaning soul.
What would you expect in a mortal coil. Good, but not perfect.
Of course animals have souls. But the’re ANIMAL souls, not human ones. Heck, rocks have souls; ROCK souls. Souls are the energy that comes from God that differentiates one chunk of created matter from another.
Rock souls... nah. At least the bible doesn’t say anything about rock souls.
Maybe you mean the soul of rock and roll?
Also, my pet cats are considerably more soulful than any rock I have ever encountered.
Yep, humans (all but a few) are much more sensitive to cats than to rocks.
I had a pet rock. It was boring.
Besides if someone told me he dug the soul of a rock, I’d ask him where he got that wonderful wacky weed.
They are no fun at ALL!
They just lie there in the HALL!
