Russian nobility...wigs, makeup, bright velvet padded jackets, tight multicolored hose etc (wasn't that because of their fondness for French culture?)

"then" and "now" isn't a good comparison. I have to agree that if it's a man's sport, colorful pink and blue sneakers are a weird fashion choice for its players.

Real guys dress like guys.

Actually, real men can wear pink if they want. They don’t have to prove anything to you or anyone else.

What colors soccer stars (or anyone else) wear is completely irrelevant to any discussion on homosexuality.

I’ll amend my previous post: If the soccer guys start wearing assless chaps, then it can be relevant to a discussion on homosexuality. Bright colored shoes and uniforms? No.

What makes pink a woman's color, exactly?

Boys dressed in pink in the 19th century, and pink was as common for shirts and ties then as it is now.

NBA players wear pink suits and NFL players wear pink cleats.

The moron featured in this article wears elaborately embroidered and multicolored flowing vestments when he celebrates the liturgy. People as ignorant as he is would describe his everyday garb as a "dress."
