Voodoo dolls of Colombian star James Rodriguez, candles in Brazil colours and prayers to deities, Neymar and co are getting full support from the World Cup hosts' Afro-Brazilian religions.
Before every game, Helio Sillman lights four yellow, green and blue candles in the colours of the national flag and places them in a rectangular box representing a football pitch.
He places dolls inside and sends them "strength and energy," with the help of Orixas, the gods of Macumba and other religions that mix Roman Catholic and African beliefs.

How impressive will that be without their best player?
To: nickcarraway
Not as impressive without Neymar, for sure - but I still think it’s going to happen. Quite the foul against Neymar - a knee right in the back. It’s being said that the ref in that game let things get of control.

Stan Kenton's
Macumba Suite is still cool today. Listened to it hundreds of times when I was in high school.
It's on the Live at Brigham Young album.

Germany will show Brazil the exit - with or without voodoo dolls. I predict an all-South America final with B over A and G over N in the consolation round.

Brazil, huh?
That is a heck of a lot of people stuck firmly in darkness.
And aren’t they working on getting the bomb?

"What do I do?"
"You remind me of a man..."
"What man?"
"A man of power!"
"What power?"
