Thanks for the apology. Same back. I knew you were a good guy. It's why I persisted.
Would you believe that 20 years ago I actually had someone who "Broke off the automatic mug holder" on a Mac 6200??? It was one of the volunteers at the Food Bank. Much earlier than that (mid 80's?) I also had to clean peanut butter and graham cracker out of the floppy drive slot of a PC for another client. ;^) so, I fully understand the damaged Mac drive. There are some users who believe that if it won't go in, get a hammer. . . and if it still won't go, bigger hammer time.
I've seen the cup holder disk player and those things were expensive in 91, customer was not pleased and it was a pc.
So, there's still a killer loose in Stockton, I saw it on the news, there was a camera that caught the car that dropped the original thugs off and I guess the guy dumped it. Things like this seldom end well. I hope they catch him and no one is injured. I wouldn't worry about him but why should a cop have to live with killing someone who in anywhere but Ca. would get a needle?
Keep your eyes peeled and you families although I think this guy is gone.
I will check out the link, thank you. MS just ups the year this week or adds R2 on the server side, who knows what they'll come up with next week? At least Apple has some style but this has been through several revolutions including a CPU architecture change (which I know they wisely took into account in development) and it's still O/S X? Does the X mean more than version 10? MS would have given it a catchy name like 'Vista', that would have sold...
Vista wasn't that bad, MS did the exact thing with 8, they update a perfect O/S like XP or 7 and it's a dud but Vista wasn't a nightmare like 8 turned out to be, the Metro interface is so counter intuitive, at least the update to 8.1 is free. 9 is supposed to be great, I don't care, just keep the servers normal.
Does Apple still use the 'Power' nomenclature? I was afraid that Mac was a PPC since although it's do-able, coding in the original processor makes a little bit of sense if you want performance and I've seen XP boot on a Mac book faster than a fast PC. Granted the Mac was up and running so it's starting a virtual system but it was impressive. I'm looking forward to getting my Mac hooked up.
