A 15-year-old American high school student was beaten and jailed by Israeli police in what his mother called an “attempted murder," as the incident happened a day after his cousin was killed.
The teen, Tariq Abu Khdeir from Tampa, Florida, was on a summer holiday with his parents and sisters in Jerusalem, visiting family in the eastern part of the city. Video clips posted online show three Israeli police officers in riot gear repeatedly beating a young Palestinian, identified as Abu Khdeir by his family, and dragging him away to arrest him.
On Wednesday morning, Tariq’s cousin, 16-year-old Muhammad Abu Khdeir, was murdered in what is widely believed to have been a revenge attack for the recent kidnapping and murder of three Israeli Jewish teens.

According to the Israeli police, he was with 5 other Arab teens, masked and armed with knives. We are supposed to think that is normal for an Arab boy and get outraged that he was arrested and roughed up. BUT don’t waste your time feeling sympathy for the also-American-citizen Israeli teen that was kidnapped with 2 others and killed, when they were hitchhiking home. That (hitchhiking with friends) is reason to kill someone, right? Carrying knives in the middle of an uprising is just business as usual. Or so they would want us to believe!
Don’t think for a second that the Palestinians and their sympathetic Arab allies aren’t aware of the anti-Israel bias in our news media and they will seek any opportunity to exploit it. We don’t know the full story. Could be rogue cops but more than likely this young terrorist in training was up to no good. Oh, sorry. How dare I accuse the poor, exploited Palestinians and anyone associated with the religion of war, er I mean peace.
