On this 4th of July.. what are some things we used to be able to do.. that we cannot anymore?
I'll start!
Making fun of each other and making fun of things that were... unnatural..
This country used to make FUN of homosexuals.
Now you could get in trouble for 'hate speech' and lose your career, job or family.
Anybody remember The Ambiguously Gay Duo???
What would happen if somebody made a cartoon like that today?????????????????????
Ambiguously Gay Duo Episode.
Neighborhoods I knew in my three years living in the city growing up that were safe when I was a kid now are overran either with illegals or just plain throat cutting scum.
When I was about 9 we moved for good out to the sticks about 20 miles out of town. By age 12 I was hunting the ridges after school. Neighbors didn't lock doors. Today I keep a loaded firearm I can access quickly. Yeah a lot has changed indeed in the USA in my 56 years on earth.
I wonder, is America still alive or are we celebrating the birthday of a “Weekend at Bernie’s” style corpse?
The kids these days don’t want to hear what life was like fifty or sixty years ago, and would never understand, anyway.
They really believe they’re “free” now.
Sad.
Even at the height of The Cold War our nation was not in the danger it is today now our rights and freedom. In the late 1960's early 1970's planes were hijacked. One nutjob demanded the pilot crash into Y-12 at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. I remember that one real well. I also remember when I was in the military in the late 1970's still being able to board a commercial plane and not have to be subjected to invasion of privacy. Our nation had leaders who had programs aimed at the criminal not the citizens. Sky Marshalls Program worked and no ones rights were compromised.
As kids in school we could talk to our buddies at school about our shotgun, rifles, whatever and even the teacher would join in if he was a hunter. We used to talk to the assistant principle in my high school about hunting and guns. Now we have to worry about teachers having sex with grade schoolers and the Gay Recruiters coming in for tolerance and sexual preference indoctrination assemblies. Woe unto any deaf student using sign language that in any form resembles pointing.
Amen, brother.
We could tell ethnic jokes, and everyone in the room would laugh.
Kids would bring their rifles and shotguns to SCHOOL and store them in their lockers...and that was in NEW YORK. My generation used to hunt; now they play soccer.
Once the government disbanded the public schools in the 1960's and 1970's, getting to where we are now was inevitable.
Great points...we had guns everywhere in school when I was younger...never heard of anyone hurt or killed by those weapons...never.
