A California trooper has been filmed brutally beating a woman on the side of a highway - but authorities claimed he simply stopped her for her own safety.
A passing motorist recorded the unidentified California Highway Patrol officer as he punched the woman at least 11 times in the head along the 10 Freeway in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
On the video uploaded to YouTube, the woman can be seen trying to protect herself by putting up her hands but she does not appear to resist the trooper.
'The most animalistic, most brutal way to subdue someone is to pound someone's head into the concrete with really big blows to the head,' witness David Diaz told ABC7

Notice he had trouble taking her down. They did a pirouette when he made a flying grab, indicating they were of comparable mass. Then when he got her down, he tussled for a while trying to get her on her stomach so he could cuff her, but he couldn’t manage this. That’s when he punched at her four times, seeming to strike her in the arms. After a hesitation, he punched three more times, this time seeming to contact her lower right jaw. Then she seemed to let down her guard, perhaps surrendering, and he turned her over and cuffed her.
Your problem is that the bad optics will motivate people to put a stop to crap like that, whether you like it or not.
You should pray they use lawful measures to end it.

Well, the pirouettes that are gonna be executed by the dueling lawyers on this one are going to be even more intricate, but her lawyers are going to end up on top, and there'll be than three punches that connect directly to the taxpeasants' wallet.
Cop/judge/jury all rolled into one brute.
So, would a real judge and jury have given the sentence of such a brutal beatdown to even a murderer?
Agreed. When something is happening I go to the British press first. Many stories are ignored or whitewashed by the stateside media.
None of those were to me ... but now I am going to say that the medium of a major highway is a very danderius place. Better to use force than get people killed.
There is no way to explain this away. Its totally insane to even try to rationalize beating a small woman with 15 punches to the head. Its a miracle he didn’t kill her. I could have grabbed that woman and slapped the cuffs on her myself.
This officer is obviously out of control and needs to be culled from the force. Probably charged with assault and battery. There is no way he should be out in the public wearing a badge and a gun. Only a deranged psycho would do this.

I am always amazed at the obsession of the cop haters here.
This was the 10 freeway.
If she had gone out on the road not only would she be killed by being hit by cars traveling 65 MPH plus, but people in cars on the freeway would also have been killed in the collision and chain reaction collisions that would have taken place.
Even deadly force would be justified to stop this in the same way that deadly force would be justified to stop someone about to shoot or kill people in another manner.
You can rush to judgement, as the leftist emotional types do.
But we have no way of knowing prior to an investigation if any punches were excessive in the context of the event.
