Your experience could be true but is in the vast minority of experience with use of hallucinogens such as mushrooms, ecstasy type drugs, and marijuana.

Generally math skills decrease in those who use these drugs.

I personally know a world-renowned mathematician who privately attributes his discoveries to LSD and mushrooms.

I also know many extraordinarily brilliant researchers and inventors who use psychedelics for creativity sessions.

Since they are highly illegal to even touch, people with a reputation to maintain will not admit to it.

Psychedelics are dangerous when abused for fun but can definitely be responsibly used as powerful brainstorming tools for creative types.
