Battle apologized for her role in the incident... “I initiated the first contact and I take full responsibility for my actions”
So, a man may not even defend himself against an attack by a large female athlete?
When I was a boy, the saying was, “A gentleman does not strike a lady.”

When I was a boy, the saying was, A gentleman does not strike a lady.Exactly what my Dad taught me.
However, he also pointed out that a female who hit you without due provocation was no lady.

"When I was a boy, the saying was, A gentleman does not strike a lady. That remains a truism, but from the sounds of things, there were no gentlemen or ladies involved.

So, a man may not even defend himself against an attack by a large female athlete? But with a punch to the face? A solid shot to the solar plexus is very effective in stopping an attack and barely leaves a mark.
A gentleman does not strike a lady, but since neither behavior fit those descriptions...
