If only “we the people” would answer the call of
2 Chronicles 7:14
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Verse 13 comes before 14.
It is AFTER verse 13 that The Lord gives His People the space of repentance, because obviously they did not heed and repent before God has to do verse 13.
My Grandfather went home to be with Jesus almost 8 years ago now... He was a great story teller of family history and witness of many miracles in his 93 years of life and testimony. One of my last memories of a “new story” came on a visit when I stayed up late with him and we happened to be watching news coverage after 9-11 and George Bush ended his speech with his usual May God Bless America and my Grandfather said to me, “you know, I was sitting here watching the news late one night about a month or two ago, and had heard the same words come out of our Presidents mouth and no sooner than he finished, I heard the words, America has turned her back on me and I will not be blessing her until her people come back to me” He said he turned and looked around, thinking somebody had walked into the living room behind him, but nobody was there... He told me, he wished he was not alone at the time, because was pretty sure the words were aloud and not just something he heard in his head... But either way, he believed God talked to him and I Have to Believe he did too....
