Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

A practical little car, with some Cuteness.
Morning TC.
Thank you. :)
It won the “Which car fits my requirements “ competition by a fair margin.
There where minor defects found during the analysis ,but all tolerable.
On final score it beat the Audi A3. There isn’t enough room in the boot (trunk) of the A3.
Must go.
Have a good afternoon!
What an exciting adventure! It reads like a Hemingway journal.
You must be relieved that it’s over.
I was in grave danger of being bashed upside the head by hummingbirds.
A clear example of the rule that no good deed goes unpunished.
We saw America last night. Why is it that immigrants like D’Souza and De Tocqueville have a clearer vision of us than people who are born here?
When all you know is your own local status quo, it’s easy to focus on how that’s not perfect. When you have experience of an environment lacking flush toilets and air conditioning - as well as even an attempt at basic human freedoms - you can appreciate an environment that’s not perfect, but much better than most (or all) available alternatives.
DP and I watched an episode of “Scarecrow and Mrs. King,” which he must have requested from Netflix. The clothes were good, haircuts a little bushy. Bruce Boxleitner was rather a cutie then, but his teeth and hair didn’t look quite real.
The trip to Jamaica has begun, with Bill and Sally out the door to pick up one of the adults on the way to the airport. Due to miscommunication from their dad, they’re already running late, but maybe this will be the one logistical error and the rest of the travel will go smoothly.
I’m up. I’m not sure if I’m awake, but I’m up and looking for something good to eat. Hahahaha!
Though I’m not going to Busdaddy’s until later, I have things to do here to keep me busy. I think I will have to sacrifice one of the tubs to hold some smaller items, since I ran out of boxes and said items won’t fit properly into a bag.
And I have to get my pills ready. That takes 20 minutes, at least. Then choose the clothes I will need, and squeeze in a breathing treatment.
The good thing is that Busdaddy will be paying for my food while I watch his house, truck and guns, so there will be a stop at Walmart before we leave.
Nice!
Your Let It Go weekend gave me some food for thought on these few days I will be away from home, and not able to accomplish anything worthwhile.
I will take my journal and try to update it, and some pictures to color, and a the Kindle so I can read.
Taking a few days off is going to cause some stress for me, as I was making such great progress in the “paring down” of my living quarters. *sigh* Since my carpet shampooer is already at Busdaddy’s I can figure he is waiting until I get there to shampoo the carpet for him in his absence. Oh goody.
Sadie’s on Firefox? She strikes me as more a Palemoon kinda person...
Yes. Recovery requires a Lucas smoke recharging kit...
I would have nuked Mecca, Medina and that damnable well in Qom decades ago, m’self.
Whew. Bill successfully negotiated the airport trip. They should take off at 11:00. I took Vlad, Frank, and the Montoya girl to church for VBS. Then I took Pat and Kathleen to the grocery store, where I found some lemon-infused olive oil, like they had where I was staying last weekend. Not the same brand, but I’m sure it’s fine.
Then we went back to church to get James on his return from Webelos camp. As they were pulling up, Jamie called, “How are they?” and Brad yelled, “They stink!” which is certainly true for James. I made him sit in the back row of the van!
Now James is in the shower, the first batch of his clothes is in the wash, and we’ll have lunch in a little while. We can go to the gym after I get the people from VBS. James and Pat can go to the water park if they want to.
Bless you again and again.
Thank you. I’d have taken care of snakes if there were any, too. Did you know it’s National Snake Day?
Oh no! I thought it was National SHAKE Day. So, 560 calories and 10g fat, with no justification whatsoever!!!
I knew it this morning when I accessed Facebook...a friend is a snake person, so that was the first post I saw!
