Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

The bruising is going away but the swelling is still visible. That’s probably the actual break. I will wrap it again today after my shower.
Breakfast will wait until then, as well. Then I have to cook some chicken thighs so be frozen. The turkey roast was one of those in webbing and the webbing doesn’t want to come off. That doesn’t make me too happy.
So. I’m off to the shower. I want some coffee, too, so I will make it as soon as I’m clean again.
I also need to find my checkbook and see if I paid the September mortgage payment. If not, I need to find the bill and get it in the mail on Tuesday.
Scissors for the roast?
Happy showering. I did that myself. Shannon sat on the bathmat and griped at me. She’s really in a mood today.
I know it’s close to payday when I start making corrections to my budget...
I had to fight to get this thing to allow OpenOffice as the default word processing program. Then I had to delete McAfee because it wouldn’t let me see streaming videos. And I’m running under the radar as far as WinAte, because it looks more like Win7. I can deal with it.
I used the scissors but now the roast is split open like a hot dog bun with the halves clinging to the string.
Cut it into medium size pieces, cover it with sauce, and bake!
I’ll stop replying now, so you can shower!
trip-wires ... deployed
Didn’t you notice? I wasn’t listening to your last post...I was in the shower. *snrt*
The roast is cooked. It just doesn’t want to be eaten, so it’s clinging to the string. It’s going to be messy, for sure.
And now I need to get something to eat.
*tagline*
LOL ... 100% and everyone disqualified ... say it ain’t so!
Both excellent points ... and pets are even more temporary *sniffle*.
I’ve retrieved my van from its campout. *whew!* Oh, and some teenagers.
I've had that happen.
I just put the thighs in the oven and treated myself to some kiwi fruit. *NOM*
Soon, I will fix enough rice for lunch and dinner, and then I’ll sit and knit something for a while, with my leg in the air.
My lettuce is looking used, again, so I will have to go get more tomorrow. Not going anywhere today.
The turkey can sit in the fridge for a while longer. It may come off the strings better if it’s cold. I think I need some aprons...
Clearly, the dedication of some people to the losing of weight can reach a dangerous extreme.
LOL!
Very punny, Bob! LOL!
Having the online Points Tracker helps me to plan my meals for the day within the designated points. It helps me to focus on a “menu” of sorts, even if it is just for the day. It’s a lot easier to follow this way, too. I don’t get side-tracked very often by what I WANT as compared to what I can have.
We shall see on Wednesday how good a job I’m doing.
Tomorrow I will go do the laundry. I’m so glad he has security, now. He showed me how to work it, and I have 30 seconds to input the code. I hope I don’t scare my little self!
Am chicken ... cluck cluck.
