Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Is that the Biblical stone that people used to get stoned with?
Or is that what people get stoned with now when they say, “Let’s go to Colorado and get stoned?”
Or is it something else?
It’s a special, English stone.
Tom (#2 son) has a job interview tomorrow. He applied to work at QuikTrip, the gas station/shop.
Good look on the interview.
And thanks for giving me my something new to learn today.
I actually learned two things. I learned it’s unwise to tell a developer to “just fix the sucker” in Spoonerism.
At least not if you want people to concentrate.
Yes, that would be true!
I’m sorry about the delay in responding. I had finally had enough with the old computer lagging and freezing up on me, so I decided to hook up the new one.
GAH!!! It didn’t recognize my wireless router, so I had to spend an hour and 20 minutes on the phone with the tech. And it was an additional 30 minutes before he got everything corrected and installed. *sheesh*
No matter what I do, I will have to do a certain amount of walking, just to take care of me, so when I have to, I try to make sure my foot is wrapped tightly and that I don’t flex it all the way when I walk.
I just cooked the last chicken breast and as soon as it cools a little, I will cut it and put half in the freezer. I think today may be a noodle day, too, with butter and poppy seeds. And some picked over lettuce! LOL!
Usually, I try to buy the pre-made deli salads because they give me two servings. They are a little more expensive, but I don’t throw anything out.
(I’m still curious as to why my PC only worked well for two years...I shouldn’t have had so much trouble with it.)
I don’t know what this is that is trying to catch me, but there are too many ingredients in cold remedies like that. If they have more than five ingredients, or at least one that I can’t pronounce, I won’t buy it. That’s just the way I am!
But thanks for the hint. I will tell my friends who get colds regularly about the Cold-eeze.
What brand?
I’ll not be buying any more HP junk if I can help it.
Good for Tom!
Maybe Bill, His Elusive Inertness, will take the hint. ;o]
I got a Toshiba, this time. They tried to sell me an HP, but I turned it down flat.
I had a piece of salmon and some spinach for lunch.
Bill was asking again why he couldn’t stay in the girls’ dorm room. He thought he’d persuade his dad by explaining that there was no chance of anything happening because they aren’t good looking enough for him.
I wish I knew who they were, so I could tell them!
What a crock! LOL! And he thinks you and his dad are going to buy that clap-trap?? ROTFL!
If they aren’t good-looking enough for him, why does he want to go so badly?
I thought I had some antiseptic spray for my throat, but it seems to have gone walkabout. I sure need it today. My throat feels like a rusty hinge.
My last ever Windoze machine is a Toshiba. It’s pretty good.
Windoze is dead to me until Microsquish quits trying to make a PC act like a phone.
Uh oh. I just checked and *I’m* full of ingredients.
Maybe I’ll have a shelf life of 100 years?
What President Obama computer was your old one?
Sorry. Whenever I type P O S as one word autocorrect changes it.
Do you have any WD-40?
They’re attractive enough to be his “friends,” but not his girlfriend. However, who really believes that’s going to matter when he’s spending the night there, especially if there’s beer?
Gaaaaah.
See?
:o]
