Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

It ill be interesting to see how he handles the wound post surgery. Maybe keep him sedated for a day or two.

Got any 2’s?
I suspect sedation while the wound heals. Otherwise, he will damage the sutures.
Congratulations to your vet and his family, inviting a new baby home for a very long visit! That’s exciting!

Yes, it is exciting. He told me about it earlier this year, but now, if all goes smoothly, they’ll have their baby home in a week or so.

Thanks! He may not forgive me for the bandaging and boxing-up enterprises. Maybe Elen can doctor him.

Morning! We are back from Weight Watchers, and for our next thing, we’ll go buy James a bigger Scout uniform. He has grown.
Then we’ll hang around and wait for news of Jake.

May Jake be set Free as soon as Jake is responsible enough to handle the Freedom. For that matter ... May ALL of recognize and realize the responsibility of being Free. I fail so often so prayers said others will always be there to carry the burden of Freedom. Know there will be so am comforted.

I’m hoping Jake will be so sleepy that he won’t be able to do himself any harm for a few days.

Hopefully, today I will feel well enough to drive home. I just got worse as the evening wore on. Busdaddy got the gun from the gunshop, got it registered, and is a little more secure about living here.
It won’t last long, though, as he has never really liked the place. He took it because it had room for his car hauler and an RV gate. No word from the realtor on the house we were looking at. I’ll call him again today.
Jake will have The Wobblies, for sure, when he gets home! Poor guy!
I’ve decided I’m going to check on Amazon and see if I can find a Weight Watchers cookbook. I had one years ago, but that was when WW was “new.” It got lost in one of the many moves since MO.

Glad to hear Busdaddy is rearmed. You could try your library for cookbooks, too.
Off for James’s uniform.
