Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Awww...I needed a dose of cuteness! I was going to walk down the hill a little later but I have some tightness in my chest and think I will just delay deciding until I see which way this is going.
Otherwise, I don’t feel too bad.

I’m sorry about your fog. The closest we get to actual fog here (above the lake) is moisture-laden air.
Of course this makes it a little difficult for me to get out and empty the tubs, but I will see how a feel after the sun comes out.
No rain is expected for the next day or two ~ just the humidity.

I’m back from my sojourn to Walmart and beyond. It took me 35 minutes because I had a hard time breathing. Good thing it was downhill.
The bus ride is 40 minutes and though I hadn’t forgotten that, it’s just that it seems longer with all the unwashed masses who ride it and can’t use their inside voices when they talk.
I was going to go out and empty more tubs, but going to UPS seemed more important at the moment.

Congratulations on your success! I’m trying to avoid Walmart today, because I would buy wine, and then I’d be unhappy with myself when I go to Weight Watchers tomorrow.

I actually by-passed Walmart, but only because I couldn’t have carried anything home with me...no more backpack. But the UPS store is just down the parking lot to the east of Walmart, so that’s where I went.
The bus stop is a good 1/4 mile away from where I was. I could have gone into Wally World but felt I had spent enough for one day...
