Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.

Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Have noticed a worrying trend this last week.
A lot of Fighters heading North, in small groups.
Just had another group pass overhead.
This is the kind of behaviour that used to occur in the Eighties when the Russian ‘Bears’ and ‘Badgers’ where patrolling in the North Sea.

LOL ... Moose. I have to keep my glasses up next to my eyes to see the computer screen. Am glad your eyesight is better than mine. When was driving Face around, when had the privilege of meeting Face, was surprised Face didn't tell me to put on my glasses after she witnessed my driving skills with her in the passenger's seat. Face kept us out of five or ten accidents in that one day over a period of maybe two hours on the road. I could tell something was about to go wrong every time Face screamed.

Most of the heavy kit is based in the North.
But they don’t normally pass up through the Centre unless it is Urgent.
