When Michele Macfarlane started to lose her eyesight, she got an au pair to help with the children. But she fell in love with the younger woman and realised she was gay
It's a well-worn cliche to fear the arrival of an attractive au pair. The threat, it is assumed, is always that the husband will stray. "There is so much written about this," Michele Macfarlane says, laughing. "I remember that early on I said to my mother, 'You know, I think our new au pair is gay.'
Tell us what you think: Star-rate and review this book "My mum joked, 'Well, if she is gay, that's a good thing. At least you won't have the problem of your husband running off with the au pair.'"
In the end, as the title of Macfarlane's account puts it bluntly, her story has a different ending: I Left My Husband for the Au Pair. When the au pair, Marizette arrives, Macfarlane emails a friend: "She's done a lot of competitive sport so she's nicely built tall with broad shoulders, a flat tummy and strong arms." Massive alarm bells.
Although she was born in South Africa, Macfarlane, 46, is British, having spent half of her life here. She and her former husband, Peter, who is a chiropractor, met as drama students in Coventry. They started a family in their early 20s. By 24, Macfarlane was a full-time mother. In her early 30s, the whole family moved to Cape Town.

No, he was kicked out of the house.
Now he has two dykes to support.
So unsurprising the dykes got custody.
I clicked on the link. They look like typical English women. No surprise.
They look like poster girls for the Lesbian Association of the United Kingdom.
Based on the photo, a more accurate headline would be: I divorced my husband and became a pear.
If she was gay she wouldn’t have had kids naturally with an icky man....
What she is? Non compos mentis.
And, of course, see the narcissism exhibited in the fact that the two look exactly alike. Sort of like doin’ yourself.
“She’s not a Au Pair anymore”. Would you let her in your house?
” I Left My Husband for the Au Pair”
Sounds like a story on the cover of cosmopolitan.
A hideous idea.
They look like two gay guys that too much estrogen.
I tell New Fathers
Beware the Babysitter
Nothing but Trouble
New fathers are feeling isolated and stressed. Often their wives are not paying much attention to them. Add to the mix a young attractive woman, whom they deal with on a personal level on a daily basis, it is not uncommon for them to transfer affection and wind up with inappropriate attraction to the babysitter.
Men should be made aware of this pitfall, and understand what it all means and what they should do about it, which is to keep an arms-distance relationship with any woman not your wife and realize that any attraction is likely the result of stress and lack of sleep. It is certainly nothing worth ruining your life over.
Any video ?
What a “screwed-up” individual.
Needless to say, the same applies to the mother in this case. Losing her sight is no doubt very stressful. Now she adds to that the stress of divorce. What happens when the Au Pair dumps her next year?
“From the article. She didnt know it. She said.”
People who suffer from mental, spiritual, and moral disorders tend to lie...a lot.
Already happened. They adopted a baby first. Now she is with another woman.
