United plane's evacuation slide deploys mid-flight

An evacuation slide inflated inside a United Airlines plane as it flew from Chicago to California, filling part of the cabin and forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in Kansas, the airline and passengers said.
Mike Schroeder said he was flying to Orange County, California, late Sunday when he heard a hiss and pop. Schroeder said he turned around and saw the plane's evacuation slide — which would normally go outside the plane during an emergency — inflating inside the cabin.

Lots of folks react this way to high G aerobatics. Chances are she’d adapt fine if subjected to the normal AF or Navy flying training courese.
Don’t really think it affected her opinion of the team.

Did someone mutter something about “Law of Unintended Consequences”?

I detest United. Probably a side effect of their standard policy of trying to cram too much, including way too many people in tiny little seats with zero leg room, inside an airplane. Unless you’re a “little person” or midget or whatever, best stay away from United/Sardine airlines. Especially when the little remaining space inside their planes start to get filled up with inflating escape ramps. I’m surprised someone wasn’t smothered in one of those United flying cattle cars.
