FULL TITLE: 'This should never happen again': Teen held against her will by hospital for 16 months describes her ordeal after finally being released
Justina Pelletier, the Connecticut teenager 'kidnapped' by hospital staff 16 months ago, has described her traumatic ordeal in her first interview since her release.
The 16-year-old was admitted to Boston Children's Hospital in February 2013 with the flu but was locked away in a psychiatric unit until this month after two hospitals clashed over her diagnosis.
'This should never happen again to anybody. To any kid or any person. They should never be put through what I've been put through,' Justina told Fox News' Mike Huckabee on Saturday.
'And they were so mean and nasty to me and they were being mean and terrible to my family also. And no-one should be put through that.'

That’s in addition to all the money she’s going to get.

She should OWN Children’s Hospital, the Child Protective agency, every last social worker and doctor and shrink who had anything to do with this. Judges who kept her there, too. Every last one.
WELL - THANK GOD she is out of there and free— this was incredible...as a parent this is a nightmare scenario...unbelievable...that these “professionals” thought they were doing this girl justice and giving her protection...makes one turn to all natural remedies and be mindful not to seek help from hospitals...isn’t there a Monty Python skit about a patient being dragged away perfectly ok to the morgue??? comedy becomes reality!
I just finished watching the video. When FReepers are correct with predictions they are correct. That girl almost died in state care!! She is in a wheelchair now because in state custody they thought she was faking her illness and did not give her meds!

She should get a book and movie deal but I bet Hollywood hasn’t called yet. Hollywood probably takes the side of the government in these cases.

This is not the only child whose rights were summarily seized by Mass Children’s and DCF. I know second hand of another child from Plattsburgh NY that went through the same thing, but her parents got her released after a little over 90 days. There are people in the psych ward there that are evil and need to have their licenses revoked on the way to a prison.
Healthcare "professionals" are catching up with the police. There's no situation that can't be made worse by calling the cops.

I think that applies here - geez...makes one want to be armed when entering a hospital ( just in case )...I have a son - that I adopted - with CP - doesn’t speak & uses a walker - that would have devastated him (then again - I would have never allowed to happen - law or no law)-— I think aliens have kidnapped me and moved me to an alternate planet!

This is a truly terrifying story. I would die on the street before I’d set foot in that hospital. I’d let my child die too. Better dead than in that lunatic asylum, where yes, the inmates are running it.
I hope these people get MILLIONS and too bad Mass residents, I hope it hits YOU ALL where it hurts, right in the pocketbook.
Some state official woke up and said “you know, these people are going to sue the sh*t out of us, we better get that girl out before it becomes a wrongful death claim”.
Seriously, this lawsuit should be one for the record books, and include every doctor that was involved with this. And the icing on the cake should be that the federal judge should be asked to put a permanent injunction against everyone involved, prohibiting them from using or publishing “any information or derivative data or tissue sample obtained from her.”
If she had been taken by the police, a writ of Mandamus and Habeas Corpus is sufficient to get the imprisoned before a court and require the imprisoning authority to show cause for the holding. Hospitals and mental institutions can claim waivers as they are ‘theoretically’ working for the benefit of the ‘patient’! Still it is this kind of situation that gives me the goose-bump shivers at the power such as these can exercise. Scary!
